Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What areas of the city do you travel to?
A: I am based on the North Shore, but can take appointments in other areas of the lower mainland depending on availability. Please contact me and I will do my best to assist you.
Q: I've prepared my own Will - can you notarize it?
A: My policy is to only witness Wills that I have prepared. In British Columbia, Wills do not require a Notary's signature to be valid.
Q: Can B.C. Notaries give legal advice?
A: Yes - It's our job to provide legal advice in the fields of law we practice. British Columbia Notaries Public are specialized legal service providers that practice in non-contentious areas of law. B.C. Notaries are held to the same professional standard of care as lawyers in the services we provide.
Q: I have a document that needs to be notarized and authenticated for another country (with an Apostille certificate), are you able to assist me with this?
A: Yes - I am on file with the B.C. Government Authentication Program, which is administered by the B.C. Order in Council Administration office. For further information regarding Apostille authentications and document requirements, please view the B.C. Government Website.
